Previously, the museum was a private gallery collector Baron Hans Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, now along with the Reina Sofia and the Prado National Museum, National Gallery of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is a center for art in Spain.

Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00. Saturdays temporary exhibitions can be visited until 23:00.
