Ciutadella Park

Citadel park in Barcelona in the north-eastern part of the Old Town. Once in the park of the same name towered castle which was destroyed in the mid-19th century, lost its military significance. At the same time the park was opened, which has long been the only green area of the city.

Today in the Park Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Geology and Zoology Museum, the city zoo and the Houses of Parliament of Catalonia.

Ciutadella Park is famous for its ponds, one of which is the sculpture "Inconsolable" - one of the symbols of the city. Cascade Fountain with waterfalls is the main decoration of the park. Surrounding green areas, sculptures, beautiful artificial lake and quiet alleys attract residents and visitors alike.
