The Prado Museum

The Prado Museum is a veritable treasure trove of art in Spain. This is one of the largest museums in the world.
The museum houses one of the finest collections of European art from the 14th and ending with the 19th century. In the gallery halls stored work, which belong to different art schools and directions. So Spanish paintings are paintings by El Greco, Ribera, Murillo, Velázquez, Goya and many other masters. The most famous work of Velazquez "Las Meninas" is in this museum. Interestingly, the artist not only supplied their works in the Prado, but was careful to museum collections all the time topped the best Italian works of art.
Of the most famous representatives of the Italian school - Botticelli, Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian and others. Flemish painting in the Prado shows works by Rubens, Bruegel, Memling, Weyden. Central blade assembly is work of Hieronymus Bosch "The hay."
Visitors can see paintings of masters, and representing German, and English, and the French school of painting. All works are the greatest legacy of art. In addition to paintings, the museum presents around four thousand drawings and lots of prints, as well as 220 sculptures and decorative art.
The Prado Museum is open every day from Tuesday to Friday from 18:00 to 20:00. On Sundays and public holidays from 17:00 to 19:00, admission is free.
