Giralda Tower
Quadrangular Giralda is a symbol of the city of Seville. It is a majestic tower with a height of about 98 meters, dominates the Seville Cathedral.
Story tower begins from the time of Arab domination, its walls were laid in 1184. Then the tower served as a minaret in Seville Great Mosque. Later, after many historical events have been added to the construction of architectural elements in the style of the Spanish Renaissance. Then at the height of 83 meters, the upper tier of lights, was erected a bronze statue of Faith awesome the banner. Sculpture served as a weather vane, weathervane in Spanish sounds like "hiraldilo." Hence the name of the tower.
The Giralda is the only Muslim building, survived during the Reconquista. This unique tower could not destroy neither war nor time. Nowadays it is the most famous landmark of Seville, all guests of the city wish to touch the centuries-old walls of the tower.
